Kazaryl growled. he rose from his position in the cave and lashed his tail back and forth.

What could that be? He sniffed the air and looked about. He saw nothing...yet, but, he DID smell something different. He stick his armored head out of the cave and noticed the newcomer. She was a dragon...deep blue sapphire scales...She was pretty for a dragon...but, what was a dragon doing here?

He growled a warning and realized he was a lot bigger than she was. He strode forward, his scales sent light dancing across the snow pack and his mighty tail left as serpentine track behind him.

Who are you? What are you doing here? He was surprised. It had been ages since he'd seen another dragon...

Aria sniffed the air trying to trace the scent that smelled of. .. what was it? Smokey spice... she never imagined it would be another dragon. The silver dragon was definatly more muscular and roughly two feet taller. But Ara could tell she was older just by watching his behavior.
"I could ask you the same question," She said with mind speak. "My name is Aria."

Kazaryl approached her warily...

I am Kazaryl the Silver Serpent, Guardian of the mountains of Lapidem...

He lashed his tail in an impressive display and bared his teeth hoping to show the new dragon that he was not a meek and weak creature. His scales were dazzling and his honey-gold eyes shone brightly in the sunlight. He walked towards the she-dragon and cocked his head and sniffed...She smelled...interesting, to say the least..

What are you doing here? He asked in a puzzled tone.

The she-dragon flashed her long white fangs in return. White, pointy and sharp as dragons teeth should be. They seemed overly bright against her dark scales. She took him in with her pale grey green snakelike eyes. He was powerfull, she wached his muscles ripplel.
"I came across you scent in the sky, I was curiouse."

Kazaryl approached the she-dragon and sniffed the air.

Do you get around much? I have not seen another serpent of the skies in decades...where have you been? What has brought you out?

The silver dragon was still suspicious...perhaps the Shadow he'd been hearing about had taken this she-dragon's mind over or something...he didnt know..he'd only just awoken from his own slumber...

Speak. My scent was the only thing to bring you here? That doesn't seem likely...something ELSE must have brought you out here...

His eyes were dazzling. His honey-gold eyes seemed to glow like stars. But he also seemed infinitely dangerous. His body was built to kill...from the dagger-like teeth that filled his gaping maw to his ivory talons and his spiked tail. He awaited this new dragon's answer...

Aria growled softly, "you are quite nosy, hatchling."
Her tail let off a wiplike crack and smoke spiraled out of her nose.
"If you are not scencing the disturbances of these five realms our species are truly degrading." She let loose a snarle of discust. "If I need to be interagated every time I go hunting..."
She mumbled this bit outloud in human speak.

Kazaryl huffed. Did she just call HIM a hatchling?? He was maybe a tad young, for a dragon, however, he was no hatchling.

He bristled, Ma'am, i am NO hatchling...and I awoke from my slumber BECAUSE of the disturbance to the realms...I question for i seek to ensure that i do not foolishly allow threats into, or out of, my realm...'tis all...

He began to turn back to the cave. Where is that blasted Dante? He should be back by now...If he doesn't show up soon, i will go out and find him...

Aria was clearly amused, "As an answer to your other questions I have been all over the five realms. I have been to caligo and back multipul times."
Aria wrapped her tail around her. Tallons. "Who is this Dante you speak of? He seems to be getting on your nerves."
Her scales flashed silver for a millisecond then whent back to dark blue. She watched Kazaryl walk away. "Do you mind if i call you Kaz? Kazaryl is kind of a mouthfull."

Dante...was the little one i rescued in the mountains from several demons...he and i were traveling together...he went off...somewhere...and has yet to return...I think i shall have to go seek him out.

The silver dragon blinked then... Kaz? KAZ? He chewed on the thought for a few moments, and then, If you must...then fine...you may call me Kaz, though i do prefer Kazaryl...

He spread his wings and prepared to go in search of Dante...

Aria smiled, "I think kaz suits you, it is a very cute name."
Aria considered several things cute and used the word often. "How old is this dante? How long has he been gone."
Aria was calculating all the places this Dante could have gone. Most importantly what was a Dante. It was a strange name for any creature.

The silver dragon pumped his wings into a powerful down stroke and lifted off.

Dante is a vampire...the little one went in search of a new sword to replace his own. I think he may have gone into town and then somewhere else...

Kazaryl was hovering in the air now his silver body shining like a star in the sun.

Well, are you coming or not? He called down to Aria. Without waiting for her response he turned and headed towards the village in search of the little one he'd lost...in search of the vampire named Dante.

Aria snorted as a bug at that moment chose to fly up her nose. Aria spread her wings and launched herself into the air. Tbe membrain of her wings appeared silvery in the light of the sun.
"A vampire or a something ealts undead? There is a diffrence you know." Then she thought about it," a little strange dragon traveling with a vampire. "

Dante is a vampire, madam, and i am not a small, strange dragon...as a protector of the realm, i am obliged to help others...this little on needed help.

Kazaryl mentally called out for Dante over the forests and the village...only Dante or another dragon would be able to hear the call.

The silver dragon effortlessly flew through the cold winter air of Lapidem with ease.

Aria, what realm are you from? I do not recall you telling me... The dragon cast her a wary glance., or he still wasn't exactly sure what to make of her.

His large honey-gold eyes blinked. Where could that blasted vampire have gone? He thought to himself.

Aria called to the birds flying by, mimicking them perfectly. They called back and flew off. Their feathers were a silvery blackish color.
"I was was calling the situation a little strange not you." Aria flapped her wings. "I am from the border of Sylvia and Scopulous, were the mountain ranges start."
Using her tail as a rudder she dove with her claws out stretched at a doe. "Dang... I missed."

The silver dragon adjusted his wings so that he went into a steep dive and slammed into the doe at full speed, snapping the creature's spine with a wet crack. His talons closed around the animal and he rose back up into the air next to Aria.

THAT is how you catch prey.

He tossed the carcass towards her without a backward glance, his wings never missing a beat.

The vampire required assistance. I promised to see him to his destination. Kazaryl looked back at her. And you follow me why?

For a while Kaz and Aria flew in silence, while Aria ate the meat of the doe before she dropped a stripped carcass into a valley.
I woke up from Hibernation a few weeks ago. It seems that most dragons have been hibernating. I'm attempting to get back into top dragon form again. Its going to take a while.

OOC: After stopping off at a nearby village, Kazaryl overheard talk of a vampire matching Dante's description having been possessed by some fiend in a small village in the marshes of Paludem.

That day-walker has gotten himself possessed?! GAH! When i get my talons on that little-one i'll... He trailed off and gave Aria a funny look. Where are you headed? Scopulus? Sylvia? It's odd for dragons to leave their home realms...or at least, that is what i was told...

The large silver dragon stretched himself out on a sunny rock to take a nap.

Aria blew a smoke ring, "I like the prospect of an adventure, You seem to have a nose for it. Maybe I shall stick around, unless you want me to leave?"
The question was a challenge, like a knife sticking out like a barb.
She proceeded to lick her paws and scales clean, restoring them to their glittering grandure. Arias black claws glinted as they soaked in the sunlight.

Kazaryl bristled slightly, seemingly growing in size and stature. "Are you threatening me, dragon?" The silver serpent arched his head back slowly and his talons extended and retracted, their ivory glint shone like a full moon. His argent scales glittered like diamond and his eyes were fierce. "I ask a simple question and get threats in return?"

Aria hissed, "I was just asking if you wanted me to leave it wasn't a threat."
Over grown hatching... Aria didn't like how the dragon got angry at every question that had a tone of a challenge after all it was in a dragon's nature to challenge but not fight. After all dragons have a fiery temper. "If you are going to explode every time I ask a question maybe I should just leave and let you starve from lack of dragon companionship."
She didn't say or send that last sentence to Kazaryl..
"If your looking for a fight I suggest you go some were different because I'm not in the mood."

Kazaryl lifted his serpentine head, opened his wings and rose. Without a word he flapped off away from the forests of Lapidem towards Paludem. He was not going to fight another dragon unless he had to, so he was going to go cool off. The dragon's leather wings beat and with ease he powered away from Aria. If she wanted, she could follow, but either way, kazaryl needed to get moving anyways.

Aria followed some distance behind her head swinging side to side as she looked around for other flying creatures. You may laugh now, but imagine a tiny bird flying up your nose not the best sensation in the universe. In fact, most dragons would be coughing up feathers for weeks. Aria sped up flying past Kazaryl her senses locked on a strange smell...
"What is that?" she asked, then she saw the carcass of a giant beast rotting in a clearing below...
"I've never seen one of those before."

The silver dragon watched Aria start to trace some scent and veer away as she flew by. Odd. Why would she care about some rotting thing. Kazaryl continued flying. Dragons were apt to do what the will. Wing beats rhythmic and steady, he flew up higher, the cold crisp air filled his lungs and the azure atmosphere was glorious. the cotton-like clouds were damp but refreshing to fly through and Kazaryl left massive dragon-shaped holes in the clouds, his enormous shadow playing having on a herd of wild goats below, sending them scattering every which way. The dragon's scales shone like dazzling argent stars in the bright sun and he marveled at his own physique. A wild dragon flying freely in the skies. Beholden to no one and nothing, doing as he pleased. Yes, such was a wild dragon's life.

Aria landed lightly next to the carcass. Her tail cracking with a whip like noise, her curiosity satisfied. She took off, deep in thought. Her wings stretched out as far as they could, she sped through the sky. Exsilerated by flight. Her blood raced and pounded as she once again zipped by Kazaryl.

Kazaryl felt the change in the winds and knew Aria was racing by him again. He shook his head. That dragon was a strange one. He preferred to glide and save his strength for later. There was no reason for him to exert himself so much, as she was. Every wing beat took energy, and energy was a treasured thing. He held his in reserve as his wings sliced through the air like a knife through soft butter. the silver serpent slithered through the skies as majestically as any dragon could, but night was coming soon and he'd need a place to lay down. He searched for a clearing.
